Economic Scholarships

  • Debt.ca International Student Loans Scholarship. The Student Loan Scholarship Program will award $500 to two qualifying students with the most thought-provoking and well-reasoned essay as judged by a panel of Debt.ca staff members. This application is generally due in May. Students will generally be notified in June.  (Debt.ca)
     
  • Federal Student Aid Scholarships.  This page contains information on various scholarships available through the Federal Student Aid website.  Depending on each scholarship’s deadline, some deadlines are as early as a year before college starts, so if you’re in high school now, you should be researching and applying for scholarships during the summer between your junior and senior years. But if you’ve missed that window, don’t give up! Look at scholarship information to see which ones you can still apply for now. (studentaid.ed.gov)
     
  • Gates Foundation Scholarships.  Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation support eight scholarship programs. You can learn about eligibility and how to apply by contacting each program directly. This application is generally due in October. More scholarship for US citizens can be found here. (scholarship-positions)
     
  • Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship: The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship honors excellence by supporting outstanding community college students with financial need to transfer to and complete their bachelor’s degrees at the nation’s top four-year colleges and universities.  This application will generally be notified in March.  The application opens in early September. The applications are reviewed December through February, and final notifications are made in mid-March. (JKCF)

  • Renaissance Scholar Application for Foster Youth at Cal Poly, Pomona
    Students must demonstrate:
    - High motivation and academic potential to succeed in college
    - Must be a current or former foster youth between the ages of 17-24
    - Qualify for admission to Cal State Polytechnic University, Pomona as a freshman or transfer student:
    - Qualify for EOP (Educational Opportunity Program).  This application is generally due in January. Students will generally be notified in March. (DSA-CPP)
     
  • UNC Full Tuition Graduate Student Scholarships
    The University of Northern California (UNC) is a highly selective doctoral level biomedical engineering graduate research institute that welcomes a small group of qualified students from around the world.  
    Applicants who are admitted to the Doctor of Biomedical Engineering program receive full-tuition scholarships, fellowships plus a living stipend.
