University of Medicine and Health Sciences (UMHS) and the International University of Nursing (IUON)

• 50 million dollar campus that compares to the best medical and nursing schools in the United States.
• Highly credentialed and seasoned faculty that are recruited primarily from the United States.
• Modern 24-bed human simulation laboratory equipped with the newest computerized simulators including I-Stan.
• 11,000 square foot anatomy laboratory that is a model for medical and nursing schools throughout the United States.

Academic Program

• UMHS has a traditional Basic and Clinical Science Program. The first four semesters are completed at our Basic Science   campus in St. Kitts. Then students return back to the U.S. to complete our clinical program.
• IUON offers two Bachelor Degrees in Nursing – a traditional BSN program and an Accelerated Second Degree BSN (ABSN).
• IUON students complete the first six semesters at our campus in St. Kitts. The final year is completed in the United States.
• Both programs go year round so that students can complete their education in less than 4 years.

Clinical/US Affiliates

• UMHS has affiliations with major teaching hospitals in New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia and Puerto Rico.
• IUON is affiliated with several major nursing schools in the United States where students complete their final year. Students that have successfully completed our program ultimately receive a BSN degree from both the U.S. affiliate and IUON.
• IUON is currently affiliated with Morehead University, Colorado State University, Purdue University, and Louisiana College.

Licensure

• USMLE Step 1 pass rate for UMHS students exceeds 95%.
• IUON’s pass rate on the NCLEX-RN examination exceeds 90%.

Financial Aid

• Both UMHS and IUON offer financial aid including private and institutional loans, as well as merit based scholarships.

Admissions

• Both UMHS and IUON have three entry dates per year (January, May, and September).
