Subject: IMPORTANT CHANGE IN UNIT REQUIREMENTS for transfer admission and graduation at PACIFIC OAKS COLLEGE

In an effort to facilitate transfer admission and to align with standard practices among other leading colleges and universities, a collaborative decision was made to change the unit requirements for transfer to and for graduation from Pacific Oaks College.

The Admissions Office, the Office of the Registrar, and the college faculty and administration have agreed that the following unit requirements will apply to all new students effective Summer 2011:

Graduation requirement:   120 units

Transfer requirement:        minimum of 60 units; maximum of 90 units

Effective Summer 2011, the change in unit requirements is not retroactive and does not apply to continuing students.  Continuing students must comply with the unit requirements indicated in the college catalog for the academic year in which they were admitted.  Moreover, the change in unit requirements for transfer admissions and graduation do not impact specific program requirements for degree completion.

Please disseminate this information (and feel free to forward the attached memo) to your counselors.  Thank you in advance.
