Subject: UC Santa Barbara Fall 2011-2012 Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) Update
Dear Colleagues:
As I shared with those of you present at the Ensuring Transfer Success Conferences in May, the information provided on the UC fall 2011-2012 TAG Matrix for UCSB was based on preliminary data. Now that we’ve completed our admissions process and have had an opportunity to review our admit data, the following changes have been made to UCSB’s fall 2011-2012 TAG. Please update your information and share with your colleagues. These changes have been posted to our website (admissions.ucsb.edu) as well under the prospective transfer student tab. UCSB TAG Criteria Letter.
Major changes to the fall 2011 TAG include;
1- Increase in overall UC GPA from 3.00 to 3.20 for the College of Letters & Science and College of Engineering by the end of the fall 2010 term.
2- Increase in major preparatory GPA for the College of Engineering from 3.00 to 3.20. Chemical Engineering will not be covered in the fall 2011 TAG.
3- Students may not earn less than 2.0 GPA during fall and spring academic terms.
4- Students will be required to submit an online TAG using the application available at (uctag.universityofcalifornia.edu). The filing period will be September 1-30th. Checking the TAG box on the admission application will not be accepted in lieu of an application.
5- UCSB will no longer be posting the TAG criteria on ASSIST under the "by majors" agreements between UCSB and CA community colleges. Instead, the fall 2011-2012 TAG criteria will be posted on our website at http://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/TAGInfo.asp. The attached PDF will be available for students to download for their records.
Thank you for your patience and for getting this information out to your counseling staff and students. Let me know if you have questions.
