Admissions Update – August 1, 2010

The following is an important update regarding spring 2011 enrollment.

All CSU campuses have been directed by the Chancellor’s Office to accept applications for admission for the spring 2011 quarter, including those campuses that were prepared to remain closed.  This request was made in an effort to demonstrate unmet student demand and secure the $360  million that would be provided the CSU System should the Governor’s Restoration and additional enrollment growth funding be approved by the legislature.

Cal Poly Pomona is now open for spring 2011 to upper division transfer, graduate and credential applicants with the exception of the following programs:

o   Impacted undergraduate programs:

Animal Science, Animal Health Science, Architecture, Biology, Biotechnology, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering

o   Graduate programs historically closed to spring admissions:
Animal Science, Architecture, Educational Multimedia, Irrigation Science, Landscape Architecture, Mathematics, Nutrition and Food Science, Plant Science,
 Psychology,
Public Administration, Regenerative Studies and Urban and Regional Planning

The Office of Admissions and Outreach will begin the eligibility review process August 1, and applications will be held pending passage of a restored state budget.  If the campus does not receive additional funds to restore enrollment, qualified applicants will have the option to move their application to the fall 2011 quarter or receive a refund of the collected application fee.

Applicants will be advised of this funding contingency prior to application and will be updated as additional information becomes available.  Qualified students not admitted for spring may move their application to the fall 2011 quarter or receive a refund of the collected application fee.
