The College of Letters and Science is organized into divisions of social sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, and humanities.

UPPER DIVISION TRANSFER ADMISSION:

  • o The average GPA of transfer applicants who are admitted to UCLA is approximately 3.70. Most students who are admitted have completed most or all of the preparatory coursework for their majors.   • ◊ UCLA is accepting applications only for the fall quarter. o Students should complete IGETC and/or all GE requirements before transfer.
  • All required coursework is to be completed by the end of spring before fall admission.
  • The role of the GPA in admissions depends on the major. Both the overall GPA and the GPA for the courses required for major preparation may be considered in the selection process.
  • The number of major-preparation courses completed is an important factor in the admissions process for all majors at UCLA.
  • In general, applicants are not considered for admission to alternate majors.
  • For all majors, students should complete a significant amount of major preparation by the end of the spring term prior to transfer.
