Four colleges - Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Engineering, and Letters and Science — offer diverse opportunities for majors and minors.
Six professional schools - Education, Law, Management, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing - offer wide possibilities for research or other undergraduate involvement.
School of Education - offers a minor to undergraduates, introducing them to educational theory, research and practice and giving them the opportunity to work in local schools and the community.
Graduate School of Management - offers a minor in technology management, which helps undergraduates develop critical business talent in science-related fields.
o UPPER DIVISION TRANSFER ADMISSION:
- UC Davis is only open to applications for fall quarter admission.
- Highest priority for admission is given to junior-level California community college transfer applicants with 60 semester (90 quarter) units. Priority is next given to junior-level transfer students from other UC campuses and other four-year institutions in and out of California. Finally, if space is available, lower-division transfers with superior grades are admitted, but only into the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
- The UC-required minimum grade point average required for transfer admission is a 2.4 GPA. For all majors, UC Davis recommends that transfer students attain an overall transfer GPA of 2.8 or higher for the best chance of admission to our campus. In fact, students are encouraged to work toward an even higher GPA, as some majors may be more competitive than others. A higher overall transfer GPA may be required to qualify for a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) in certain majors.

o MAJORS: Undeclared options are closed to transfer applicants, except lower division applicants in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Additional coursework and academic performance is required of transfer applicants to selective majors in the following areas of study:

- College of Biological Sciences (all majors)
- College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences:
- Biotechnology major
- Viticulture and Enology major - College of Letters and Science:

∆ IGETC works well for students planning for Bachelor of Arts majors with few units of lower-division preparation. Bachelor of Science degrees and high-unit majors often have many courses of lower-division preparation. In these cases, the UC Davis general education pattern is the best choice.
o TAG Notes: UC Davis is proud to collaborate with all California community colleges to provide students with increased access and an opportunity for early advising in order to achieve their academic goals. The online UC TAG Application provides you and your students with an efficient, paperless process to guarantee admission to UC Davis.
