  1. A Transfer Discussion Document. Written May, 2005, by the Intersegmental Committee of Academic Senates (ICAS) focuses the three segments of the California public higher education system which currently operate several programs intended to facilitate the transfer of students between the California Community Colleges and California State University and University of California systems.

California Community College Transfers to In-State Private and Out-of-State Institutions, 2004-05 through 2007-08 (updated 4/2/10)This descriptive report provides institutional level information pertaining to community college transfers to in-state private (ISP) and out-of state (OOS) four-year institutions in 2006-07.
  7. Crafting a Student-Centered Transfer Process in California: Lessons from Other States-08/09. A Report from the Institute for Higher Education Leadership and Policy at CSU, Sacramento.Transfer Rate Study. This excel file contains three separate tables showing the transfer rates for three academic years – 1998-99 to 2005-06.
  8. Edsource: High School to Community College. This report focuses on where California’s K–12 and community college systems meet and explores some of the potential opportunities currently under discussion for building better bridges between them. The report emphasizes the issue of students’ readiness for college-level academic work in English language arts and math.

    (11/19/2009).  A report from The Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education highlights promising transfer practices at six community colleges in Texas. The six colleges were selected based on an analysis of the transfer rates of low-income and first-generation students, and site visits were conducted to learn more about best practices that led to these results.

  13. Student Transfer in California Post-Secondary Education. The 2005-08 Student Transfer in California Postsecondary Education report, provides background and summary information on undergraduate student transfer in California’s postsecondary education systems. The report discusses the important role transfer plays in California’s postsecondary education system, and the many intricacies of the transfer function

    Each report now presents graphical views for most responses, along with data from prior years for trending.
  15. Transfer Velocity Project (also known as Transfer Leadership Center Project) The Transfer Leadership Center (TLC) is the most comprehensive study to date of two-to-four-year transfer in California. Awarded in 2007 by the California Community College State Chancellor’s Office, the study investigates and increases our understanding of the full spectrum of factors, interventions, strategies, and practices that have a positive impact on transfer. TLC includes three components: a literature review, quantitative analysis, and qualitative research.
  16. The TRUCCS Report. Seeking the Definition of Academic Diversity in the Community Colleges: Highlights from the Transfer andRetention of Urban Community College Students Project (TRUCCS).
