IMPACTED STATUS: Impacted for first-time freshmen and upper division transfer, and programs in Biology, Pre-business, Environmental Studies and Planning, Communication Studies, Human Development, Kinesiology, Liberal Studies, Nursing/Pre-nursing, and Psychology.  Requirements for the Impacted Majors can be found at http://www.sonoma.edu/ar/prospective/ts/highdemand.shtml. Changes of note, there is no longer pre-nursing for transfer students.  There is only Pre-Licensure and Post-Licensure.  Also note for nursing in Post-Licensure (aka RN-BSN) these students are now required to have completed all of area A AND B4.  They are no longer exempt from A3 and B4 beginning fall 2012.

Also of note is the addition of departmental review for all Kinesiology applicants.

UPPER DIVISION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The following information for Upper Division Admission Requirements was extracted from the new 2012/13 CSU Campus Admission Specific Practices and Enrollment Resources Handbook. Admission & Registration Status Prior to Receipt of ALL Official Transcripts(Page 7):
-All transcripts must be official for an admission decision determination.
- Will admit with final semester still outstanding.
- The campus reserves the right to cancel an applicant’s admission for failure to submit documents/transcripts on or before deadlines.
- No summer course work is accepted for fall admission.
Completion Dates for Upper Division Transfers in Communication in the English Language & Quantitative Reasoning(Page 10):
- Fall 2012-complete by end of spring 2012.
- Spring 2013-complete by end of fall 2012.
Grades in Repeated Courses Taken From Different Colleges for Transfer(Page 9):
Will honor grading policy of the college where the original course was taken; otherwise grades are not averaged.
High Unit Majors with Authorized Exceptions to Admission & GE Breadth Requirements-Transfer Students (Page 11):
Not applicable to Sonoma State.
Orientation (Pages 3):
- Transfer students are required to attend orientation.
- The orientation fee of $35.00 is nonrefundable unless request is made PRIOR to deadline. 
- Deposit is subject to change without notice. **Students must check the full details of the Orientation fees with Sonoma State.
Registration Priorities for Upper Division Transfers
(Page 12):
- Registration order occurs with continuing students.
- Registration grouping occurs at orientation. (Orientation is required of all transfer students).
Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Enrollment Deposit (Page 2):
- The SIR and the required, nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $200/EOP-$50 is due May 1.
  ** Note: Deposit is refundable IF Sonoma State is notified BEFORE deadline.  If Sonoma State is notified after deadline - then refund is not available.
Transfer Certification & Double-Counting of Courses for Major Requirements (Page 8):
- Some double counting is permitted.
- Sonoma State will allow fully or partially certified transfer applicants to double count courses towards (1) the American Institutions Requirement, and (2) GE Certification (either GE Breadth or IGETC).
- Sonoma State will accept a DD-214 for elective units for all students and to clear Area E for GE-certified transfer students.
Transfer Credit Summary (Page 13):
3-4 weeks after enrollment and orientation confirmation deposit is paid.
Transfer Students With Learning Disabilities-Completion of Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning Requirements for Admission & GE Breadth
(Page 14): Considered on a case-by-case basis with review by campus committee.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:  ◊ There is an Ethnic Studies requirement for graduation that can be taken prior to transferring. There is no general foreign language or second semester English requirement for graduation.
