Beginning in fall 2010, CSUSB has defined its local area to include community colleges within San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Local Area Community Colleges within San Bernardino County include: Chaffey College, San Bernardino Valley College, Victor Valley College, Crafton Hills College, and Barstow College.
Local Admission Area Schools within Riverside County include Riverside Community College, College of the Desert, Mt. San Jacinto College, Palo Verde College, and Copper Mountain College.
^ IMPACTED STATUS: Impacted for first-time freshmen and upper division transfers, and programs in Criminal Justice, Kinesiology (only Pre-physical Therapy), Nursing (Only BSN; the RN to BSN is not impacted), and Social Work. ◊ UPPER DIVISION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The following information for Upper Division Admission Requirements was extracted from the new 2012/13 CSU Campus Admission Specific Practices and Enrollment Resources Handbook. Admission & Registration Status Prior to Receipt of ALL Official Transcripts(Page 7):
-Will offer Conditional Admission with partial transcripts and self-reported work-in-progress and allow registration.
- Official transcripts that include work-in-progress are required by February 15 and final official transcripts are required by July 15 to verify eligibility for fall admission.
- The campus reserves the right to cancel an applicant’s admission for failure to submit timely transcripts verifying admission
eligibility.
Completion Dates for Upper Division Transfers in Communication in the English Language & Quantitative Reasoning(Page 10):
- Fall 2012-complete by end of spring 2012.
- Winter 2013-Complete by end of fall 2012.
- Spring 2013-complete by end of winter 2013.
Grades in Repeated Courses Taken From Different Colleges for Transfer(Page 9):
All grades are averaged into the cumulative grade point average unless discounted on the transcript where the course was originally taken.
High Unit Majors with Authorized Exceptions to Admission & GE Breadth Requirements-Transfer Students (Page 11):
Not applicable to CSUSB.
Orientation (Pages 3):
- Transfer students are required to attend orientation.
- The orientation fee of $85.00 is nonrefundable . The orientation fee is subject to change wihtout prior notice.
**Students must check the full details of the Orientation fees with CSUSB.
Registration Priorities for Upper Division Transfers (Page 12):
- Registration order occurs with continuing students.
- Registration grouping occurs by class level.
Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Enrollment Deposit (Page 2):
The SIR and the required, nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $100 is due May 1 (within 2 weeks if admitted after May 1)
Transfer Certification & Double-Counting of Courses for Major Requirements (Page 8):
-Double counting is limited to 9 units in major subject area.
- CSUSB will allow fully or partially certified transfer applicants to double count courses towards (1) the American Institutions Requirement, and (2) GE Certification (either GE Breadth or IGETC).
- CSUSB will accept a DD-214 for elective units for all students and to clear Area E for GE-certified transfer students.
Transfer Credit Summary (Page 13):
Prior to or during first quarter of attendance through the student’s MyCoyote account.
Transfer Students With Learning Disabilities-Completion of Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning Requirements for Admission & GE Breadth
(Page 14): Considered on a case-by-case basis with review/recommendation from the Director of Services to Students with Disabilities.
□ GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- There is a foreign language graduation requirement. The foreign Language requirement can be satisfied for transfer students who are certified in Area C General Education by their respective community college. Otherwise, the equivalent of the second (102 at CSUSB) or third quarter of a foreign language may be required. Consult with school.
- There is a Multicultural/Ethnic Studies requirement for graduation, but the course must be upper division.
- For students who are not or will not be certified in Area C, please consult with CSUSB regarding satisfaction of the foreign language graduation requirement.
