◊ LIBERAL STUDIES MAJOR COURSES RECOMMENDED TO TRANSFER: Be fully certified in lower division CSU General Education-Breadth requirements; honor the CSU/GE transfer guidelines in the college catalog. Lower division course of study must include Written and Oral Communication; Critical Thinking; three Natural Science courses: Earth, Life, and Physical (either one with a lab); Music, Art, Drama, Dance; Economics; Geography; Computer Literacy; U.S. History, U.S. Government; and Constitution and California State and Local Government; Ethnic Studies (a single ethnic group focus); Physical Education activity; three or more levels of a second language.

◊ UPPER DIVISION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The following information for Upper Division Admission Requirements was extracted from the new 2012/13 CSU Campus Admission Specific Practices and Enrollment Resources Handbook. Admission & Registration Status Prior to Receipt of ALL Official Transcripts (Page 6):
- Will issue "conditional admission" based on self-reported work in progress and partial records.
- Must submit an official in progress transcript in order to verify conditional admissions eligibility.
- No summer coursework is accepted for fall selection.
- Official final transcripts reflecting all coursework must be received by July 15.
- The campus reserves the right to cancel admission for failure to submit the documents by the posted deadlines.
Completion Dates for Upper Division Transfers in Communication in the English Language & Quantitative Reasoning (Page 10):
- Fall 2012-complete by end of spring 2012.
- Spring 2013-complete by end of summer 2013.
Grades in Repeated Courses Taken From Different Colleges for Transfer (Page 9):
Will honor the grading policy at the college at which the repeat was taken.

Orientation(Pages 3):
- Transfer students are strongly recommended to attend orientation as attendance is required to retain priority in this group.
- The orientation fee of $65.00 ($35-parents/guests) is nonrefundable and are subject to change without notice.

Registration Priorities for Upper Division Transfers(Page 12):
- Registration order occurs after continuing students.
- Registration grouping occurs at orientation.
- Priority registration is included for transfer students during the orientation programs.
Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Enrollment Deposit(Page 2):
- The SIR and the required, nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $100 is due May 1. Must confirm at http://mycsumb.edu.
Transfer Certification & Double-Counting of Courses for Major Requirements(Page 8):
- Some double counting is permitted, subject to departmental approval.
- CSUMB will allow fully or partially certified transfer applicants to double count courses towards (1) the American Institutions Requirement, and (2) GE Certification (either GE Breadth or IGETC).
- CSUMB will accept a DD-214 for elective units for all students and to clear Area E for GE-certified transfer students.
Transfer Credit Summary (Page 13):

Transfer Students With Learning Disabilities-Completion of Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning Requirements for Admission & GE Breadth
(Page 14): Considered on a case-by-case basis with review/recommendation from the Director of the Disability Resource Center. Students wishing an exception based on a learning disability need to submit a written request and documentation verifying the disability to be considered for an exception.
□ GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
- One course in Computer Literacy
- Students must demonstrate comfort with technology and information search and discovery methods. They must also demonstrate the ability to use tools effectively for the discovery, acquisition, and evaluation of information as well as core computer tools for the manipulation and presentation of information in a creative and ethical manner.
- Foreign Language Requirement. Transfer students with 56 or more transferable units must acquire language proficiency through third level (levels 101, 102 and 201 at CSUMB).
- A Second course in English is required.
- There is a Culture/Equity requirement for graduation, but the course cannot be taken prior to transfer.
