GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • For graduation, one course in Cultural Minorities and/or Women in the USA; one course in Performing Arts and Activities (can be taken before transferring).
  • For graduation, an additional course in English is required for graduation (minimum grade of D required for this English course). □This additional English course (College Writing II) must be completed before attaining 90 quarter units at CSU, East Bay. Note, an English course used to clear IGETC Area A3, Critical Thinking, can be used to clear this second composition requirement. If a student uses this for graduation (Area G at CSUEB), this will not give a student additional units toward the minimum number of G.E. units they need.
  • □ Under Chancellor's Executive Order No. 595, up to 58 quarter (39 semester) units of the CSU General Education-Breadth Requirements may be certified by California Community Colleges and other CSU campuses. You must request the certification; it is not automatic except for the A.A. in University Studies programs.

NOTES FOR LIBERAL STUDIES MAJORS: Liberal Studies majors at the community college should complete lower-division Liberal Studies requirements according to articulation agreements (when established). Otherwise, they should complete lower-division general education courses including three English courses, biological science, physical science, and foreign language, as well as the American Institutions requirement.
