◊ UPPER DIVISION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The following information for Upper Division Admission Requirements was extracted from the new 2012/13 CSU Campus Admission Specific Practices and Enrollment Resources Handbook.   • Admission & Registration Status Prior to Receipt of ALL Official Transcripts (Page 6):
    - Final official transcripts must be received by deadline dates. Registration will be withheld until transcript(s) is submitted showing successful completion of Area A and B4 and 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units.
    - All admission requirements must be completed by the end of the spring for fall admission.
  • Completion Dates for Upper Division Transfers in Communication in the English Language & Quantitative Reasoning (Page 10):
    - Fall 2012-complete by end of spring 2012.
    - Spring 2013-completion recommended by summer 2012.
  • Grades in Repeated Courses Taken From Different Colleges for Transfer (Page 9):
    Will honor the grading policy at the college at which the repeat was taken. If the college forgives the first
    attempt and it is so noted on the official transcript, the forgiveness will be honored. If the first attempt is not
    forgiven, the campus will calculate both attempts into the cumulative GPA.
  • High Unit Majors with Authorized Exceptions to Admission & GE Breadth Requirements-Transfer Students (Page 11):
    - Engineering (Civil, Computer, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic).  These majors do not require completion of A3 before transfer.
  • Orientation (Pages 3): 
    - Transfer students are strongly recommended to attend orientation as priority registration is part of the orientation program. 
    - The orientation fee of $60.00 (1 day) is nonrefundable and subject to change without notice.
       **Students must check the full details of the Orientation fees with CSUC.
  • Registration Priorities for Upper Division Transfers (Page 12)
    - Registration order occurs after continuing students, after the New Student Advisement Work.
    - Registration grouping occurs at orientation. Attendance at orientation is strongly recommended to retain priority in this group.
  • Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Enrollment Deposit (Page 2):
    The SIR and the required, nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $200 is due May 1.
  • Transfer Certification & Double-Counting of Courses for Major Requirements (Page 8):
    - Some double-counting is permitted; subject to department approval.
    - CSUC will allow fully or partially certified transfer applicants to double count courses towards (1) the American Institutions Requirement, and (2) GE Certification (either GE Breadth or IGETC).
    - CSUC will accept a DD-214 for elective units for all students and to clear Area E for GE-certified transfer students.
  • Transfer Credit Summary (Page 13):
    Upon receipt of all required transcripts and the “intent to enroll”, a transfer credit evaluation will be available online during the first semester of attendance.
  • Transfer Students With Learning Disabilities (Page 14):
    All transfer students are expected to complete the math/quantitative reasoning admission requirement prior
    to admission 

□ Transfer students who have completed the entire IGETC requirements will not be held for additional lower-division GE requirements but are required to complete the U.S. Diversity and Global Cultures requirements (if these courses were not taken within the IGETC certification program) and the U.S. History, Constitution, and American Ideals requirement (which cannot be included within the IGETC certification program). GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • There is no foreign language or 2nd Semester English required for graduation.
  • One course in U.S. Diversity and Global Cultures (formerly known as Ethnic & Non-Western Cultures). 
    ** Both may be taken before transfer.
