UPPER DIVISION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The following information for Upper Division Admission Requirements was extracted from the new 2012/13 CSU Campus Admission Specific Practices and Enrollment Resources Handbook.   • Admission & Registration Status Prior to Receipt of ALL Official Transcripts (Page 6):
    - Conditional admission may be granted based on work in progress. Pre-registration is permitted for conditional admits.
    - Final official transcript(s) must be received by established deadlines.
    - No summer coursework is accepted for fall selection.
  • Completion Dates for Upper Division Transfers in Communication in the English Language & Quantitative Reasoning (Page 10):
    - Fall 2012 - completed by end of spring 2012.
    - Spring 2013 - completed by end of summer 2012.
  • Grades in Repeated Courses Taken From Different Colleges for Transfer (Page 9):
    Undergraduate students may repeat courses and only the most recent attempt will be used for unit and grade
    calculations. If a CI course is repeated at another institution (second attempt) then the campus will calculate
    both attempts into the cumulative grade point average (GPA).
  • High Unit Majors with Authorized Exceptions to Admission & GE Breadth Requirements-Transfer Students (Page 11):
    Not applicable.
  • Orientation(Pages 3): 
    - Transfer students are strongly recommended to attend orientation.
    - The orientation fee of $35.00 is nonrefundable and subject to change without prior notice.

  • Registration Priorities for Upper Division Transfers (Page 12)
    - Registration order occurs after continuing students.
    - Registration grouping occurs after New Student Advisement Workshops.
  • Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Enrollment Deposit (Page 2):
    The SIR and the required, nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $100 is due May 1.
  • Transfer Certification & Double-Counting of Courses for Major Requirements (Page 8):
    - CSUCI allows some double counting of courses.  Check with CSUCI for more information.
    - CSUCI allows fully or partially certified transfer applicants to double count courses towards (1) the American Institutions Requirement, and (2) GE Certification (either GE Breadth or IGETC).
    - CSUCI will also accept a DD-214 for elective units for all students and to clear Area E for GE-certified transfer students.
  • Transfer Credit Summary (Page 13):
    All matriculated students can view their degree progress report through self service at http://mycsuci.edu. Students are provided with their access information at New Student Transfer Advisement Workshops. California community college students are reviewed for CSU General Education certification by the end of their first year.
  • Transfer Students With Learning Disabilities-Completion of Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning Requirements for Admission & GE Breadth (Page 14): Considered on a case-by-case basis by the Admissions Office in consultation with CSUCI Disability Resource Programs.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • One course in multi-cultural studies is required and may be met by upper division transfer course or approved community college course articulation.
  • One course in computers and technology.
    - Fully GE Certified students will not be held to computers and technology requirement.
  • Foreign language graduation requirement.
    - The language requirement can be met by satisfying General Education category C3A with a grade of C or better.
  • One course in computers and technology.
    - The language requirement can be met by satisfying General Education category C3A with a grade of C or better.
    - Students who are G.E. certified in Section C must still meet the language requirement for graduation and may do so either by passing a C3A course with a grade of “C” or better or by demonstrating proficiency through examination.
  • A second semester of English is not required.
