CSU Bakersfield consists of four schools:
- Humanities and Social Sciences - Business and Public Administration
- Natural Sciences and Mathematics - Education

∆ Upper-division Transfer Admission Requirements
- Completed 60 transferable semester (90 quarter units).

Completed at least 30 semester (45 quarter) units of general education courses, graded C or better in each course, including: All general education requirements in communication in the English language (9 semester or 12-15 quarter units) consisting of one course in written communication, one course in oral communication, one course in critical thinking (CSU GE category A), and one course in mathematics/quantitative reasoning (CSU GE category B4). The mathematics course must have intermediate algebra as a pre-requisite. Go to www.ASSIST.org for listings of courses at every CCC that meet the CSU general education requirements.

Acquired a grade point average of 2.0 or better (2.4 for California non-residents) in all transferable college units attempted; and...

Be in good standing at the last college or university attended (i.e. eligible to re-enroll at that college or university).

CSUB uses an audit program to pull in courses students have taken at other institutions to determine course placement at
CSUB.

- Courses can be double counted if articulated
- Liberal Studies- Students should complete the Lower Division Transfer Pattern for “Subject Matter Preparation for Elementary Teaching” posted www.calstate.edu/acadaff/ldtp/docs/ITP_NITP_Revised(9-15-06)KH_Statewide.pdf. They should also complete a Survey of California History, a course in basic Computer Literacy, a course in Current Health Problems, the Introduction to Psychology, and laboratories in all Science coursework.

Graduation Requirements
◊ There is a foreign language graduation requirement. It can be satisfied by:
1. □ Meeting the CSU admissions requirement for first time freshman students by completing two years of high school
coursework in the same language with a “C” or better.
2. Passing a CSUB administered foreign language challenge exam at the 101 or higher level.
3. Passing a CSUB Foreign Language course at the 101 or higher level, or equivalent.
- ◊ One course on gender or race
- ◊ The foreign language requirement and gender or race requirement may be taken prior to transfer
- ◊ A second semester English course is not required for graduation
- ◊ Courses taken 10 or more years prior to the date of graduation cannot satisfy major, minor, or cognate requirements
unless they are recertified. Each department has a policy for recertification.
◊ Repeated Courses Taken at Different Colleges
Will honor grading policy at the college where repeat was taken.
