□ TRANSFER SELECTION CRITERIA - Effective Fall 2012 (College and Major Specific). See http://admissions.calpoly.edu/apply/transfer_sc for more information.
Applicants applying as a college transfer student should be at the junior transfer level (60 or more transferable semester units or 90 quarter units by the time of transfer [end of previous spring term for fall admission]). Cal Poly does NOT accept applications for these categories:
- Lower-division transfer applicants (less than 60 transferable semester units or 90 transferable quarter units upon transfer).
- Students seeking a second Baccalaureate degree.
- Students seeking professional growth or professional development.
Transfer applicants will:
1. Explore and choose a major to declare on the application since Cal Poly requires applicants to declare a major on the application for admission consideration. Applicants must thoroughly educate themselves on their intended major's offerings and requirements for degree completion prior to submitting an application for admission (major changes are not allowed after an applicant has been selected). NOTE: Selected applicants are admitted to their intended major as listed on the application and NOT an emphasis or concentration within the major’s department.
2. Review the selection criteria for your intended major prior to submitting an application for admission consideration since applicants compete to be selected against other applicants for the same major.
3. Submit the application by the Nov 30th deadline because late applications are not accepted. New transfer applications are only accepted for the next fall quarter (apply between Oct 1 - Nov 30). See: http://admissions.calpoly.edu/apply/tcriteria for more information.
^ IMPACTED STATUS: Continues to be impacted for all ,majors and does not consider alternate majors. See: http://www.calstate.edu/sas/publications/documents/ImpactedProgramsMatrix.pdf for a list of impacted majors and for more information.
